Super Brother!

This is so cool. I had recently read a post on my friend Karen's blog about a really neat new cape she had ordered for her son. Her friend Katie started making super hero capes. I knew this would be something Antonio would totally love so I ordered him one as a special gift from me for being a new big brother. Katie did such a fantastic job on Antonio's cape. He absolutely loves it!

Daddy and Antonio

Josh took Antonio on a "Father/Son" night tonight. They had a blast with each other and didn't come home until 9pm! Josh took Antonio to the mall to see Skyscrape and Punkass ((Tapout)) and Cole Miller and then they went out for dinner. Josh wanted to have a special night with Antonio because we don't want him to start feeling left out with all of the attention we need to give Gio.

That's 3 more signatures Antonio got added on to his Tapout t-shirt and UFC book! He is thrilled.

Then, Josh took him to Toys R us where he got to buy himself a toy with "his own money".

Welcome to the World GIOVANNI GABRIEL!

We were blessed September 18, 2009 at 8:06am with the second little man of our crew Giovanni Gabriel. He weighed in at 9lbs 4oz and was 21 inches long.

Our prince has finally arrived!!!

We arrived at the hospital at 5:30am Friday morning. Giovanni arrived a few hours later via C-Section. Everything went beautifully. I am really managing the pain well. No horror stories here :) We remained in the hospital for the weekend and were home by Sunday night, September 20.

We are now home sweet home enjoying our precious new addition. Antonio is a great big brother. Josh is such a wonderful father. My parents are helping out so much, I just could not ask for more!! Enjoy the slide show of our hospital stay!

38 Week Update

Well, Today is the 38 week mark... and guess what, Gio will be here Friday!! After having a long discussion with our doctor, and our LORD helping us make the right decision, the best/safest option for our child is to have him as soon as possible going by all of the stats and his size. We are thrilled. We just can not WAIT to meet our second little joy!! We trust fully in our doctor and our LORD and we are going to have a completely healthy, perfect little boy this weekend!! YAY!!

After Surgery

Antonio's surgery went well. Praise the LORD. He went in with absolutely no problem, he was such a big, brave boy. The whole thing took about 10 minutes. He was not very happy when he woke up :( My poor little man had some normal pain and nausea. By the time we got home, that was all gone! The Tylenol did wonders and he has not needed any more pain meds since!! I'm surprised he has not taken a nap all day!! Its about 4:30pm now and it looks like he is getting really tired so I'm going to try to keep him up for dinner and then just put him to bed early. He can go back to school tomorrow, he just can not play outside with the class for 2 weeks. He seems to be ok with this. We have to go back in one month, just to make sure everything is healed up properly. Other then that, all is well!

The Night Before Surgery

We have to leave for Antonio's surgery in a few hours... but I just wanted to share a few photos of my little handsome after his bathy tonight in his new jammies almost ready to go to sleep. He knows he has to be at the doctor's early tomorrow, but I didn't tell him he was going to get surgery. I don't want to upset him.... We packed a bag of all toys and books and we are all ready for the morning! We will have to leave by 7am. He is very excited he does not have to get dressed and can go to the doctor's in his PJs :)

37 week 5 day Ultrasound for Giovanni

Today was my last sonogram for Gio. Since Giovanni has been measuring pretty big, my Dr. wanted to send me for one last sonogram just to get an estimated weight on him. Well, he was so right. As of right now (37 weeks and 5 days) Giovanni has an estimated weight of 9lbs. WOW. No wonder I have been in so much pain!

Wednesday is my next prenatal appointment. I will be exactly 38 weeks. I'm sure after going over the paperwork, and seeing how big Gio is measuring, we will talk about an induction date.

Contractions are coming every day now, and lasting for a few hours, but then going away for a little while. I'm sure its not going to be too much longer! As long as I can hold off until after Antonio's surgery tomorrow, it will be perfect! I have a feeling Antonio will be going back to school on Monday as a new big brother! Maybe even before then... only our Lord knows! I know HE has the perfect date and time for the arrival of our precious prince!

Homework by Antonio

Antonio does such a fantastic job on his homework. I am so proud of him. He is so smart God BLESS him and his teachers tell me how great he is doing in VPK! Here is his homework that was due today:

Antonio is getting surgery on Tuesday

After school today, Antonio had his 4-6mo checkup with the Pediatric Otolaryngologist (ears, nose and throat specialist)... and he needs to go in for surgery on Tuesday (September 15th). One of the tubes in his ears have moved backwards instead of coming forward to fall out. We tried to make the procedure as soon as we could being that Giovanni will be here any day.
I just KNOW everything will be fine... the whole procedure will only take around 10 min... but I HATE him being put to sleep... and that 10 min is enough to kill my nerves for the rest of the month. Thank GOD he will not need an IV or tubes down his throat or anything... he will simply smell a gas that will only put him to sleep for 10-20 min.... and our LORD will be with him the whole time! This will be Antonio's 3rd surgery with All Children's Hospital and associates. The first being the removal of his tonsils/adenoids and tubes put in his ears at age 2... then his second set of tubes at age 3... and now this... They are really the only group I would trust with my children with procedures like this. They are really wonderful.
So please keep us in your prayers as we get through these next few weeks. Thanks so much! My little man is such a strong boy and does so well with all of this... I'm so proud he is my son.

37 week update and belly!

Today was my 37 week prenatal appointment... these weeks are just flying by even though I would really love to have my baby... this second! I am now considered "full term", so whenever Giovanni decides to come is fine from now on! Doctor said he is getting big so we need to keep a very close eye on him here on out... he was actually measuring 39 weeks today. Monday, I need to go for an ultrasound to find out his approximate size. Then on Wednesday is another prenatal appointment... maybe my last! If the doctor feels he is getting a little too big, we are going to schedule an induction in my 39th week (2 weeks from now!) I would really love for Gio to come on his own, but I have an awesome doctor and will go along with whatever he thinks!
