The Big Vote On Health Care

My Friend,
This morning, the Congressional Budget Office released their final numbers on the Democrats' health care bill. They estimate this unprecedented takeover of our health care system will cost taxpayers $940 billion. This bill is full of kickbacks and back room deals, and exceeds the $900 billion ceiling President Obama set last September. We must do everything in our power to defeat this bill from becoming law. The work we do in the final hours before the vote will make all the difference. Speaker Pelosi wants the House to vote for this bill on Sunday - less than 72 hours from the time I write this email. We have very little time to act. I urge you to immediately call your Member of Congress to tell him or her to vote "No" on this disastrous piece of legislation.
You can find your representative's office phone number at www.house.gov or by calling the House of Representatives main switchboard at (202) 224-3121. The telephone lines in many Washington, DC offices are being flooded with calls from people like you who oppose this bill. If you are unable to get through to the Washington office, please call your representative's district office or contact them through the email contact form on their website. Each poll that has been conducted shows an overwhelming majority of Americans are against the Obama Administration's attempt to impose government-run health care. Yet the Obama Administration and Congressional Democrats are doing everything trying to ram this bill through Congress this weekend.
Your representative in Congress needs to know you oppose this bill, so once again, I ask that you take a few minutes right now to call your representative and ask them to vote "No" on government-run health care.

Happy 6 Months Beautiful Boy!

Could it really be? Our beautiful boy is 6 months old today! Here are his 6 month old pictures:

Giovanni's 6 month stats/milestones:
- 22 1/2 lbs
- 30 inches long
- Love's to eat his vegetables. His favorites are Carrots; Sweet Potatoes; Squash and Green Beans. (Soon we can try fruits and move up to level 2 foods!)
- Can and loves to clap his hands!
- Recognises and "dances" to his favorite songs such as "Elmo's Song"; "The ABC Song"; "Sing a Song"; "Rubber Ducky"; "Oscar the Grouches I Love Trash" and "C is for Cookie"
- Tries to mimic words such as "Mama"; "Dada" and "Hello"
- Has 2 teeth (bottom middle)
- Rolls over
- Can sit up by himself for a little longer without tipping over. The doctor considers him sitting by himself fully, but I don't really until he is a little more sturdy and never tips over at all.
- Working on waving hello and goodbye.
- Loves to hug, watch Nick Jr. with his brother and listen to his own voice
- Always smiling and laughing

Tiffany's Visit

It was time again for my wonderful friend Tiffany to visit us from NY. She has been coming every year for the past 3 years. She was super excited to see Antonio again and to see Giovanni for the first time. She loves them so much. Last time she was here, Gio was in my belly. She couldn't stay too long this time so we did not have much time for photos... but hopefully she will be back next month! Here are a few phone photos we managed to get :)

Importance Of A 5 Point Harness Car Seat

Parents, please take a moment to watch this video in its entirety.

Great information was passed on to me by a very good friend of mine last year about how important it is to have your child in a 5 point harness carseat. At the time, Antonio had just turned 4 years old and was in a regular booster seat because I thought he was big enough to ride safely in one.

When I saw this video, I cried my eyes out but I'm grateful I had a chance to watch it and learn all about the knowledge my friend has to offer on car seat safety. Nothing is more important to me then my children's well being. The next day, regardless of Antonio's age, I ran out and got him a 5 point harness car seat and he has been in one ever since- because that is whats safest for my child.

Another important fact: Most 5 point harness car seats only go up to 40lbs before they turn into a regular booster seat. As I learned yesterday, a car seat may say it goes up to a certain weight, but after the 40lb mark, the seat needs to be turned into a booster, and the 5 point harness should no longer be used.

This was a problem for me because although Antonio's car seat goes up to 65lbs, the 5 point harness can only be used up to 40lbs and Antonio is now around 45lbs. Well, there ARE car seats where the 5 point harness can be used for bigger children and Antonio just got one today! We got the Graco Nautilus 3-in-1 Multi Use Car Seat. A few of my friends have this as well and are very happy with this seat and so are we! If it was not for my friend, I would have kept Antonio in his old 5 point harness car seat not knowing he is over the weight limit for it- thinking it goes all the way up to 65lbs. So, being knowlegeable about car seat safety is important too! I wish all parents were as knowledgeable as I am now about it. I'm going to pass on this information to as many parents as I know!
A parent should never have to lose a child... especially if the situation can be avoided.

What A Happy Joy!

My baby Giovanni is such a happy, pleasant baby. His perfect little smile lights up our whole world... just like his big brother! His whole face lights up when he smiles with those eyes of his.

How could you not smile looking at that face!!!

When we went for our walk on this beautiful day! Look how big my baby looks in his stroller!

First Time Clapping Hands!

Giovanni clapped hands for the first time today! I tried so hard to get it on video.. and I got him doing it a little bit, but it was when I turned the camera off that he did it LOTS! Isn't that always the way!? Well, enjoy the little clips I did get :)

My poor baby was getting so cranky with me taking video's of him so he clapped just to hush me up I think haha.
